Skill Dual Wield

Dual Wield is the skill which enables you to wield two one-handed weapons simultaneously.

Dual Wield Calculator

The calculator compares two one-handed weapons against a two-handed weapon using the normalized weapon-score model from the spreadsheet: ((2 × damage) + damage bonus) ÷ delay. Dual wield adds the expected offhand contribution by multiplying the offhand score by the modeled Dual Wield chance. It does not model hit rate, haste, procs, STR/ATK, skill-up speed, special attacks, or encounter armor.

Classes

  • Monk - Level 1 (Modeled Max 252)
  • Rogue - Level 1 (Modeled Max 245)
  • Warrior - Level 1 (Modeled Max 240)
  • Ranger - Level 1 (Modeled Max 240)
  • Bard - Level 1 (Modeled Max 210)
  • Beastlord - Level 1 (Modeled Max 210)

Brief Description

The current modeled per-level Dual Wield cap is:

  • Bard, Beastlord, Ranger, and Warrior: Level × 5 + 5 through the level-50 cap of 210.
  • Rogue: Level × 6 + 5 through the level-50 cap of 210.
  • Monk: Level × 7 + 5, capped at 252.
  • Ranger and Warrior continue after level 50 at +5 skill per level to a modeled final cap of 240.
  • Rogue continues after level 50 at +5 skill per level to a modeled final cap of 245.
  • Bard, Beastlord, and Monk remain at their level-50 modeled caps.

Dual wield affects the chance for an equipped offhand weapon to swing. Whenever the delay requirement for the offhand weapon is met, a check is made versus your dual wield skill to see if the offhand weapon will successfully swing.

Higher skill levels mean more consistent offhand swings.

The best way to skill up dual wield is by putting a low-delay weapon in the secondary weapon slot.

Each weapon's attack speed / delay is considered independently when dual wielding, which means it is possible to have multiple swings on an offhand weapon before the main-hand weapon swings.

Damage bonus only affects your primary weapon. As a result, for maximum normalized weapon score, you generally want the stronger primary-hand value in the primary slot so it receives the damage bonus, while the offhand contributes only its base weapon score multiplied by your Dual Wield chance.

Dual wield checks will not process without a weapon equipped in the primary equipment slot unless you are a monk. (No punching with main hand and weapon in offhand.)

However it is possible to dual wield with a weapon equipped in the primary equipment slot and no weapon equipped in the secondary equipment slot.

Dual Wield Chance

Class Modeled cap @ Lv50 Modeled cap @ Lv60 Divisor Chance @ Lv50 Chance @ Lv60
Bard 210 210 400* 65% 67.5%
Beastlord 210 210 400* 65% 67.5%
Monk 252 252 400* 75.5% 78%
Ranger 210 240 400* 65% 75%
Rogue 210 245 400* 65% 76.25%
Warrior 210 240 475 54.74% 63.16%

* Indicates unverified / modeled divisor. Warrior uses 475 in this model based on outside testing; the other Dual Wielding classes currently use 400.

Note that this section remains conjecture until it is verified in-game. The calculator follows the spreadsheet model and should be treated as a comparison aid, not a complete combat simulator.

Modeled chance to Dual Wield is based on this formula:

(PC Level + Current PC Dual Wield Skill Level) / Divisor

Ambidexterity, when selected in the calculator, multiplies the modeled base Dual Wield chance by 1.35 and caps the result at 100%.
