Multi-Classing

In EverQuest Legends a character can be a combination of up to three classes, also known as multi-classing. This allows your character to simultaneously gain the benefits (i.e., attributes, skills, spells, etc.) of all three! You can find the original Multiclassing and Loadouts announcement on the EverQuest Legends YouTube Insight Series.

Character Creation (Primary & Secondary Classes)

At character creation, you will first choose your Race. You then choose your Primary class from those available to your race, and then any class, regardless of race, as your Secondary. Until Level 11, you may change your Primary class at any time. Note: There are no gameplay differences between Primary and non-Primary (i.e., Secondary and Tertiary) classes.

Deity & Home City

In addition to choosing your race and Primary and Secondary classes, you will also choose your deity and starting city.

Level 10 (Tertiary Class)

At level 10, you can choose any class, regardless of race, as your Tertiary.

Level 11

Important: At level 11, you must commit to a race, deity, and Primary class. This cannot be changed until you've unlocked other races, deities, and Primary classes by completing the respective achievements. It is recommended your first Primary class combination be one you expect to use often with other multi-class combinations until you decide to unlock other Primary classes.

Unlocking Primary Classes

Unlocking Primary classes both enables you to change your existing Primary class, as well as makes them available to choose from for any race (e.g., unlocking Shaman as a Primary class would allow you to choose it as a Dark Elf, Gnome, etc).

Primary Class Unlock Achievements

{TODO} - Add an Achievements Category to the wiki, then the unlock achievement for each Primary class, and finally update the following class list to link to the respective achievements.

  • Bard
  • Beastlord
  • Berserker
  • Cleric
  • Druid
  • Enchanter
  • Magician
  • Monk
  • Necromancer
  • Paladin
  • Ranger
  • Rogue
  • Shadow Knight
  • Shaman
  • Warrior
  • Wizard

Loadouts

Loadouts are previously saved character templates, or presets, of race and multi-class combinations. Loadouts are accessed from the Loadouts tab on the Inventory screen. Race and Primary Class combinations can be changed in any major city from the options you have unlocked. Non-Primary classes can be changed without needing any unlocks.

Leveling Classes

Up to level 10, all 16 classes will level at the same time, regardless of which combination you are actively playing. Beginning at level 10, only the classes you are actively playing will gain experience, and at they do so at the same rate. If at any time you switch to a different loadout, or edit your current loadout, your character level will be adjusted to the lowest of the three classes that you chose.

Guides

Use this page to find or create class-combination guides.

Select three classes below. If a guide already exists, you will be taken to it. If it does not exist yet, logged-in users with page creation permissions can create it.

About Class Combination Guides

Class combination guides are meant to help players understand how three classes work together.

A good guide should focus on:

  • Group roles and responsibilities
  • Strengths and weaknesses of the combination
  • Pulling, healing, crowd control, tanking, damage, travel, buffs, debuffs, and utility
  • Leveling strategy
  • Dungeon and outdoor camp suggestions
  • Gear priorities
  • AA Priorities
  • Useful quests and items
  • Spell and ability synergy between the three classes

There are 540 possible three-class combinations, so many pages may not exist yet. If your combination does not exist, feel free to create it.

Contributor Guidelines

When creating a new class-combination guide:

  • Use the page name generated by the selector.
  • Focus on how the classes work together rather than rewriting the individual class pages.
  • Link back to the individual class pages for class-specific details (such as spell lists.)
  • Use existing single-class pages as references, but do not copy large sections from them unless they directly apply to the combination.
  • Add practical advice: camps, roles, tactics, strengths, weaknesses, and gear priorities.

New Guide Starter Template

Copy and paste the following into a new class-combination page, then replace `ClassA`, `ClassB`, and `ClassC` with the actual class names.
