The information here was based on live EQ and p99, the spawn cycle is completely different on EQL. I tracked both hasten and brother z to get this data.

They will all run exactly over their spawn point making this the best place to catch Hasten with a Hail.

They have several spawn points on the hill giant hill and around the ruins at the base of the hill. They path south from the hill into the canyon, then west, then north to the Inns. They walk back the same way they came and then despawn after a few minutes. The best place to wait for them to spawn is where the canyon opens up to the hill giant hill. Their spawn cycle is very different on EQL so disregard any other source of information from other servers and wikis. The giants will kill any bear they see so you may not see any bears at all if you are camped in the canyon.
