General Information

The Soldier's Brooch is a set of Range slot items with a level 30 minimum requirement, but the quest is easy to do at that level. The set of items granted all start with the name "Soldier's Brooch Of", and there are versions for most classes.

Rewards

IMPORTANT NOTE! Rewards are based upon your Primary class. If your primary class is not one of the listed below, you will NOT get an item reward when you trade in the quest items!

Upcoming change (patch of August 18, 2026): per the pre-patch notes shared by Secrets on the official Discord (August 14, 2026), "The Soldier's Brooch quest in Rathe Mountains will now allow the player to choose their reward." Once the patch is live, you will no longer be locked to your primary class reward and can pick whichever brooch suits your build.

Simply trade in one of each Insignia item from the following mobs to Gaz Commander Faltip (-1576, -255 in Rathe Mountains).

You say, 'Hail, Gaz Commander Faltip'

Gaz Commander Faltip says, 'Strength of Marr to you, young Dar. We have had some disturbing news from our spies along the troll front lines. It seems that those malicious brutes have continued their relations with the Dark Elves, even after retaking their city. Recent intelligence suggests that the Trolls plan to use the Dark Elven teleportation magic to enter the Mountains to the north of here, and small groups of Trolls have been seen exploring the areas to the north, presumably experimenting with the magic and it's abilities to teleport into the mountains. These [groups] must be [dispatched] as soon as you spot them.'

You say, 'groups'

Gaz Commander Faltip says, 'I am glad to hear that you are willing to help us dispatch these rogue groups of Trolls and Dark Elves. Once you have taken care of this, you will need to return to me with proof that the task is complete, and for this, their insignias should work just fine. With the help of our very skilled Scribes and Scryers, those very same insignias may be able to be used to give us more information as to what exactly they plan to do out here.'

Each of the targets for this quest can be found at the same place. (+1187, +2479 in Rathe Mountains). You can farm the turnin before talking to Gaz Commander Faltip.
