Alanna's Race Unlock Guide
Introduction
How to Unlock a New Race
Races can be unlocked by completing their respective achievement in the Races subsection of Untapped Potential achievements.
Each race will have a list of factions that you will need to get maximum faction with to unlock the race. They are usually the town guards, merchants, and one of the class factions. You are automatically granted the achievement if you start as that race and you can use Race Unlock Tokens (not yet implemented) to bypass them.

The achievements work by checking your completion of the faction specific achievements that can be found in EverQuest > Progression in the achievement menu. You gain these achievements by achieving +2000 personal faction with the associated faction.
You do not need all the factions maxed at the same time to unlock the achievement.

How Faction Works
Faction in EverQuest is determined by adding together a series of modifiers together to get a number between -2000 and +2000 that is used to determine how an NPC reacts to you.
| Name | Consider Message | Faction Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ally | "regards you as an ally" | +1100 to +2000 | |
| Warmly | "looks upon you warmly" | +750 to +1099 | |
| Kindly | "kindly considers you" | +500 to +749 | |
| Amiable | "is amiable" | +100 to +499 | You receive a bonus to your charisma in shop price calculations at this level and above |
| Indifferent | "is indifferent" | 0 to +99 | |
| Apprehensive | "is apprehensive" | -100 to -1 | You receive a malus to your charisma in shop price calculations at this level |
| Dubious | "glowers dubiously" | -500 to -101 | Vendors won't sell to you at this faction and below |
| Threatening | "glares at you threateningly" | -750 to -499 | Enemies will attack you at this level, but have reduced aggro range and reaction time |
| Ready to Attack | "scowls at you, ready to attack" | -2000 to -749 | Enemies will attack you at this level |
There are a variety of modifiers that go into this final number. These are usually determined at the character select screen, but we can easily change them in EverQuest Legends.
- Personal Faction - This is a number between -2000 and +2000 that is determined by your actions. It starts at 0 and +2000 is required for achievement credit. EverQuest Legends has the minimum positive faction gain set to +5.
- Race - Most factions like or dislike certain races. As you unlock more races, you have more flexibility here. Enchanter illusions also affect this.
- Class - EverQuest Legends uses the highest number from your three classes to determine this. There is a bug with the Faction Standings window where it only uses your primary class. You can easily manipulate this by changing the classes in your loadout.
- Deity - Not yet implemented, but in the future you'll be able to unlock them like races and swap them at will. It's usually best to be agnostic if you can since it rarely has a positive or negative effect.
- Spells - The enchanter spells Alliance, Benevolence, and collaboration and the bard song Cinda`s Charismatic Carillon. Alliance is +100, Benevolence is +200, Collaboration is +300 and Cinda`s is +120 to +660 depending on level and modified by your wind instrument mod, but is capped to +300.
- Zone - Some zones apply a negative mod to a faction. I don't believe that this is currently relevant to EverQuest Legends
- NPC - Some NPCs have modifiers on them separate from their faction modifiers. Again, I don't think this is currently relevant to EverQuest Legends.
You add all of these modifiers together, then cap them at -2000 and +2000 to determine the mob's final faction level.
Faction Tricks
There are a variety of methods for temporarily changing how mobs con to you to allow quest progression even if mobs are normally hostile to you.
- Changing your load out - Modifying your Race, Class or Deity load out can greatly change how NPCs react and can be done any time you are in town.
- Illusions - Mostly used for change race, which is less relevant to EverQuest Legends, but many factions are neutral to non-player illusions.
- Sneaking - While sneaking behind NPCs, they will con indifferent to you and respond to dialogue and trades as such. Be careful because some dialogue will make the NPC turn and face you, which can be deadly if they're hostile. This is also useful for using hostile merchants.
- Feign Death - While feigned, all mobs will con indifferent to you but you can talk and trade with them as normal. Trading will require you to feign after opening trade.
- Invisibility - Invisibility sets your faction to indifferent, but prevent NPCs from responding to dialogue. Opening trade will also remove invisibility. You can benefit from the faction change by opening the trade window and then having someone cast an invis spell on you before turning in. You can also use the Innate Camouflage AA or Cloudy Potions for this.
- Charm - Charm sets a mob's faction to amiable for their controller and indifferent to everyone else. You cannot gain any faction from quest turn-ins to charmed mobs, but it useful for intermediate quest steps.
- Lulls - These do not change how NPCs react, but they do reduce the range in which they will attack you. Many quests don't actually have faction requirements for turning them in, so you can complete them from outside the mob's aggro radius
- Line of sight - If a mob can't see you, they can't attack you. You can frequently abuse corners and walls to do quest turn-ins to hostile mobs
EverQuest Legends Specific Features
Useful Classes
Unlike traditional EverQuest, the ability to change classes on the fly grants a lot of flexibility for how you approach factioning. It can be useful to gain a few levels in these classes to unlock some useful features to make the process easier.
- Bard - Sneak, charm, faction song, invisibility, lull song, run speed song
- Beastlord - Invisibility, run speed buff
- Cleric - Lulls
- Druid - Invisibility, wolf form, Harmony, teleportation, run speed buff
- Enchanter - Charm, Alliance, illusions, invisibility, lulls
- Monk - Sneak, Feign Death
- Necromancer - Invisibility, Feign Death, skeleton illusion
- Paladin - Lulls, horse
- Ranger - Sneak, invisibility, Harmony, run speed buff
- Rogue - Sneak, Hide
- Shadow Knight - Invisibility, Feign Death, horse
- Shaman - Invisibility, run speed buff
- Wizard - Invisibility, teleportation
Of particular note, you can always swap to rogue for Sneak, enchanter for illusions, and druid, shaman, or bard for speed buffs.
Getting Around
We have a lot more options for getting around the world in EverQuest Legends than in traditional EverQuest and it makes factioning much easier.
- Run speed increase - You always want one of these active when running between NPCs.
- Boots of the Long Road - Can be obtained in the tutorial or purchased from an adventuring supply merchant for about 16 plat. Provides a good run speed increase that breaks in combat or when using an ability. You can upgrade them to move the click effect to a different pair of boots.
- Spirit of Wolf - Beastlord, druid, ranger, and shaman all provide this at various levels. It provides a good increase to run speed that doesn't break in combat.
- Selo's Accelerando - The bard movement song. Provides a good increase to run speed that can be increased to extreme levels with a drum. The fastest way to move through zones.
- Mounts - A very fast way to move in outdoors zones. Has a bit of lag when accelerating.
- Journeyman's Boots - Requires a long quest to obtain and doesn't provide as much speed as SoW. Useful at very low levels for combat, but not useful at all later.
- Athletics - This skill replaces the old run speed increasing AAs. At high levels, players move at SoW speeds unbuffed.
- Ports - Wizards and druids can both teleport across the world. Can be useful to level them for this purpose, especially for some specific zones.
- Evacuate - Teleports you to the safe spot in a zone. Another wizard and druid feature, this can make navigating certain large zones very fast
- Origin - Teleports you to your home city. This only has an 18 minute cooldown. Once you've unlocked a few races, you can travel between cities very easily.
- Gather Party - This has a 6 hour cooldown and lets you summon your party members to you. Can be occasionally useful for traveling, but the long cooldown limits its use.
Quest Items
There's a few features relating to items and loot that make things easier here.
- Most stackable items stack to 100 and items used in tradeskills stack to 1000
- NPCs will accept as many items as you can trade them if the quest only requires a single type of item. You will need to trade one of each item if they require different ones
- Lore items do not exist. You can carry as many duplicate quest items as you can fit in your inventory. Plus 8 more on your cursor if you don't have to open doors
- You can store empty containers inside other containers. This can let you do certain quests that require combines in large quantities without worrying about inventory space
- You can use the advanced loot window to automatically store items in your Tradeskill Depot or Dragon's Hoard
- Loot is per person. This means you can share camps or camp mobs with more than one person to increase the chances of getting items
- Selling a bag in your inventory to a merchant sells all items in it but keeps the bag. Useful for getting rid of quest rewards fast
- You can bind destroying items to a hotkey. If you do this and disable confirmation on destroying items, you can delete unsellable items very fast.
Useful Resources
- EverQuest Legends Wiki - You are here. This has much of the information from Project 1999's wiki ported over and will be getting updated with any EverQuest Legends specific information
- Project 1999 Wiki - Most relevant info should be ported over, but it's a good reference. Do not blindly trust anything you read, but it's frequently a good starting point for classic content
- Special shoutout to Glumf's Spectacular Faction Guide which taught me many of the methods used for effective factioning
- Allakhazam - One of the oldest sources of EverQuest information around, this is an amazing resource for historical information that was added after the classic era. Be aware that it's currently unlisted from Google due to serving malicious ads in the past.
- PQDI - This is a database specific to Project Quarm. That server has many custom changes and it's based of the old Al'kabor server, but there's a lot of useful features here related to factions. In particular, looking up factions has the faction modifiers for races, classes, and deities. It's also useful for finding the exact dialogue needed to trigger certain quests.
Barbarian
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Rogues of the White Rose.
- Get maximum faction with Wolves of the North.
- Get maximum faction with Merchants of Halas
Recommended Method
- Complete the Lion Meat Shipment Quest 200 times
- Turn in the resulting 200 Lion Delight to Iceberg
Details
Lion Meat Shipment
This quest was changed at some point in the last few years to give Rogues of the White Rose faction instead of taking it away.
First, travel to Halas and bind in front of Teria O`Danos just across the lake in Halas. Then travel to Western Plains of Karana and say "delivery" to Einhorst McMannus in the barbarian fishing village until your inventory is filled with Lion Meat Shipment. Creating a macro that says it and then autoinventories with a small delay will help. Gate back to Teria and turn in the shipments 4 at a time for 4 Lion Delight and these faction hits:
- Merchants of Halas +10
- Wolves of the North +7
- Shamen of Justice +7
- Rogues of the White Rose +5
Repeat this step until you hit at least +1000 faction with Rogues of the White Rose. You can keep most of your inventory clear to do 50+ per trip and store 8 on your cursor.
Warning: The Lion Delights are food, so put them below your normal food to avoid eating them.
Once that's done, track down Iceberg in the Everfrost Peaks tundra and give him all of the Lion Delights you've accumulated in a single trade. For each one, he'll give you a Sweaty Shirt and the following faction hits:
- Wolves of the North +5
- Shamen of Justice +5
- Merchants of Halas +5
- Steel Warriors +5
- Rogues of the White Rose +5
Warning: Iceberg despawns when you give him a Lion Delight, so do the whole batch at once.
I highly recommend leveling wizard to 23 and having access to either bard speed or a knight mount to cut down on travel time. Druid will do in a pinch and the travel time is long enough that Origining to Qeynos might help.
With a wizard, you can use West Karana Gate to port to the east end of the zone, then use Lesser Evacuate to port to the Qeynos Hills zone line. After that, it's a short run down to Einhorst.
Alternative Methods
Gnoll Fangs
The Gnoll Bounty quest is the best alternative. Give Lysbith McNaff in Halas 3 Gnoll Fang for these faction hits:
- Wolves of the North +15
- Shamen of Justice +5
- Merchants of Halas +5
- Steel Warriors +5
- Rogues of the North +5
1200 fangs gives enough faction to complete the achievement. This will take an extremely long time to do, but is an option if you want to gain faction with Jaggedpine Treefolk or Silent Fist Clan.
Mammoth Calf Hides
The Mammoth Calf Hides quest is an alternative for Rogues of the North faction. Giving 4 Mammoth Calf Hide to Cappi McTarnigal in Halas for these faction hits:
- Rogues of the North +5
It takes approximately 1600 A mammoth calf kills to gather the 1600 needed to reach +2000 faction with them.
Dark Elf
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Dreadguard Inner
- Get maximum faction with Dreadguard Outer
- Get maximum faction with Dark Bargainers
Recommended Method
- Do the Bottle of Red Wine quest 400 times
Details
This is a fairly simple quest. Buy 400 bottles of Red Wine. Go to Lokar To`Biath in Neriak Third Gate and give them to him. Get achievement. Require indifferent.
Each wine gives:
- Dreadguard Inner +5
- Dreadguard Outer +5
- Dark Bargainers +10
Alternative Methods
You can do the Book of Turmoil Quest as an alternative if you hate money. (Requires indifferent with Dark Bargainers)
Give 70 gold to Lokar To`Biath in Neriak Third Gate to receive a Note and these hits:
- Dreadguard Inner +5
- Dreadguard Outer +5
- Dark Bargainers +10
Take the note to Rysva To`Biath in Neriak Commons to get a new Note and this faction:
- Dreadguard Inner +5
- Dreadguard Outer +5
- Dark Bargainers +10
Stop doing the quest there as you'll break even on Dark Bargainers faction and have to wait for respawns if you kill Lokar.
It will cost 1400 plat to reach max Dreadguard Inner/Outer faction using this method.
Dwarf
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Storm Guard
- Get maximum faction with Merchants of Kaladim
- Get maximum faction with Kazon Stormhammer
Recommended Method
- Do the Tumpy Tonics quest 400 times
Details
Tumpy Tonics
A pretty simple quest, but fairly tedious to do.
Purchase 800 Kiola Nuts from Cleonae Kalen in Ocean of Tears. If you're an evil race/class, you can do the Muffin for Pandos quest to quickly raise her faction. Buy 1600 Flask of Water from any merchant. You have two options for getting Tumpy Tonics. Either hand 2 water and 1 nut to Tumpy Irontoe 800 times or brew them yourself. I recommend the second option to save your wrists. Then give them to Trantor Everhot for 1x Dwarven Wire and these faction hits:
- Storm Guard +5
- Kazon Stormhammer +5
- Miners Guild 249 +5
- Merchants of Kaladim +5
- Craknek Warriors -1
If you do decide to brew it, you'll need about 843 nuts and 1686 water once you reach trivial with no AAs
Alternative Methods
You can do any of the standard dwarf quests. The +5 minimum faction in EverQuest Legends makes all of these somewhat viable.
Here's a selection of them:
Erudite
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Deepwater Knights
- Get maximum faction with High Council of Erudin
- Get maximum faction with Heretics
Recommended Method
- Kill 400 Kobolds
- Do the Kobold Molars (Good) with all of the molars you loot
- Kill Heretics in Paineel until you max out Deepwater Knights
- If you're trying to preserve Heretics faction, you can finish Deepwater Knights via Kobold Molars
- Do the first step of the Peacekeeper Staff Quest 400 times minus however many molars you turned in
Details
Slaughter Kobolds
First, you need to go on a kobold murder spree in The Warrens. Every kobold kill in The Warrens and Stonebrunt Mountains give the following faction hits:
- Heretics +5
- High Guard of Erudin +5
- Clan Kobolk -1 (-5/-10 for named)
It will take 400 kobold kills to max out Heretics. Do not turn in any Kobold Molars for Heretics faction because they give -7 to Deepwater Knights.
Kobold Molars
The Kobold Molars (Good) quest is the best source of Deepwater Knights faction that doesn't require killing Heretics. Each molar you give to Tiam Khonsir gives the following faction hits:
- Deepwater Knights +7
- High Council of Erudin +5
- Heretics -1
It takes 286 molars to max out Deepwater Knights, which will take about 1430 kobold kills. Not recommended to solely rely on this when each Atdehim kill is equal to 143 molars and it requires only 200 kills to counteract.
Killing Heretics
The second step is to raise the Deepwater Knights faction. The fastest way is by killing NPCs in Paineel.
Atdehim Sqonci gives the most faction, but the gain was capped to +100 in a patch. He's still the fastest, but he does lower your Heretics faction the most now. He gives:
- Craftkeepers +100
- Crimson Hands +100
- Deepwater Knights +100
- Gate Callers +100
- Heretics -1000
You can go through killing all the guards. Most give these hits:
- Craftkeepers +10
- Crimson Hands +10
- Deepwater Knights +10
- Gate Callers +10
- Heretics -10
Guard Ackin, Guard Ishvlor, Guard Mertanor, Guard Potren, Guard Sheltuin, Royal Guard Lilkus, and Royal Guard Sheltuin instead give increased faction:
- Craftkeepers +25
- Crimson Hands +25
- Deepwater Knights +25
- Gate Callers +25
- Heretics -25
Sealed Letters
Third, you max the High Council of Erudin faction. You can do the first step of the Peacekeeper Staff Quest repeatedly if you are amiable with Peace Keepers. You can do the Heretic Heads quest to get there if you don't worship Rallos Zek. If you do, do the Wooden Shard method instead. Each completion of this step yield this faction:
- Merchants of Erudin +5
- High Council of Erudin +5
- High Guard of Erudin +5
To do it, you go to the cleric's guild in Erudin and say "retrieve the Peacekeeper staffs" to Lumi Stergnon to get a sealed letter. Repeat this until your inventory is full. Run to Emil Parsini in Toxxulia Forest and give him the letters. He will hand back the container version of Peacekeeper Staff for each one. You should bind at either NPC to speed this up. It takes 400 cycles of this to max out High Council of Erudin with no molars turned in.
Alternative Methods
Heretics
I do not recommend doing any quests for Heretics as they almost universally reduce the other factions you need and killing kobolds is faster.
Kill Sentinels
Killing Sentinels is fast, easy, and conveniently doesn't affect Deepwater Knights, so it's a quick way to raise Heretics faction. Each one gives:
- Heretics +45
- High Council of Erudin -45
- High Guard of Erudin - 300
- Merchants of Erudin -225
Not recommend in EverQuest Legends since kobolds are so much better.
Deepwater Knights
Deepwater Knights also do not have any good quests besides the molars.
High Council of Erudin
Another faction with few options. Most quests that raise them also decrease Heretics by an equal or greater amount.
Wooden Shards
We can abuse the fact that Peacekeeper Staff Quest and Trueshot Longbow Quest both require Wooden Shards. Jyle Windshot in West Freeport has a 90% chance to give Wooden Shards each time you give him a Small Lantern. You can buy the lanterns in East Freeport at Innkeep Hunter as the closest merchant. Alec Greenglade in North Freeport is next to the bank if needed. Innkeep Olissa and Innkeep Roster are both close to the teleport locations for wizards and druids in West Commonlands, which are the fastest if you have that option. I recommend binding at Jyle to gate back and cut out half the trip. Every lantern you give Jyle will also net you the same factions as giving Pandos muffins. It should take about 445 lanterns to accumulate enough shards. Once you have the shards you need, fill up your inventory to save time on destroying quest items, then give them all to Emil Parsini in Toxxulia Forest for a Treant Resin and the following faction hits for each shard:
- Merchants of Erudin +5
- High Council of Erudin +5
- High Guard of Erudin +5
Froglok
Note: I still haven't worked out the best way to get this achievement yet. Uklo will respond like the Illusion: Guktan quest is in, but it doesn't show in the unscribed list and I haven't seen the mobs for it. Without that, there's no quests to raise Guktan Suppliers in the game.
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Protectors of Gukta
- Get maximum faction with Guktan Elders
- Get maximum faction with Guktan Suppliers
Recommended Method
Alternative Methods
This will get you everything except Guktan Suppliers. Give 4 Bone Chips to Dar Collector Reokar in Rathe Mountains for this faction:
- Citizens of Gukta +5
- Protectors of Gukta +5
- High Council of Gukta +5
- Lorekeepers of Gukta +5
- Guktan Elders +5
Gnome
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with King Ak'Anon
- Get maximum faction with Gem Choppers
- Get maximum faction with Eldritch Collective
Recommended Method
- Do the first part of Series C Black Boxes 400 times
Details
Series C Black Boxes
You'll need amiable with Gem Choppers to start this quest. Shondo and the Tonic is the fastest way to get there if you need faction.
Tell Manik Compolten in Ak'Anon "new warrior" to get a Shiny Card. You can bring this to any series C model to get their blackbox and these hits:
- King Ak'Anon +5
- Eldritch Collective +5
- Gem Choppers +5
- Dark Reflection -1
- Meldrath -1
I like to use Clockwork XIIC, personally. Fill your inventory with cards, then trade them for black boxes, then delete those boxes and repeat. It takes 400 shiny cards to max out all three factions.
Alternative Methods
Necromancer Hunting
You can also gain Eldritch Collective faction by kill The Dead members in Neriak and Dark Reflection members anywhere you find them. Check the Eldritch Collective page for a list of NPCs. If you're a high level, Neriak might be faster than minotaur horns.
If you go that route, Vasty Deep Ales will let you max the other factions.
Minotaur Horns
Every 2 Minotaur Horns you give to Larkon Theardor in Ak'Anon gives the following faction hits:
- Eldritch Collective +20
- Dark Reflection -3
- The Dead -1
- Gem Choppers +5
- King Ak'Anon +5
You'll need 200 horns and you'll need to kill between 1400 and 4000 minotuars to farm enough of them. The higher level ones in the Steamfont Mountains mines have a much higher drop rate.
If you farm the horns yourself, you should naturally max out Gem Choppers and King Ak'Anon.
Minotaur slavers give this faction per kill:
- Gem Choppers +5
- King Ak'Anon +5
- Meldrath -5
Minotaur Sentries and Minotaur Guards give this faction:
- Gem Choppers +7
- King Ak'Anon +10
- Meldrath -10
And the Minotaur Lord gives:
- Gem Choppers +15
- King Ak'Anon +20
- Meldrath -20
Vasty Deep Ale
Buy Vasty Deep Ales from Geoard BlueHawk in Erudin and then turn them in to Shondo Billin in Erudin Palace for these faction hits:
- Gem Choppers +10
- Merchants of Ak'Anon +5
- King Ak'Anon +5
- Dark Reflection -2
- Clan Grikbar -1
400 of these will max out Kin Ak'Anon.
Half Elf
Requirements
- Unlock Human or Wood Elf as a race
Recommended Method
- Unlock Wood Elf or Humans (Qeynos)
Halfling
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Guardians of the Vale
- Get maximum faction with Merchants of Rivervale
- Get maximum faction with Priests of Mischief
Recommended Method
- Do Bandages for Honeybugger 400 times
- Do Cleric Supplies 400 times
Details
Bandages
The first part is simple. Buy 400 Bandages and trade them to Joogl Honeybugger in Misty Thicket. This can be done even if KoS if you're above level 17. Each bandage gives the following faction:
- Merchants of Rivervale +5
- Deeppockets +5
- Guardians of the Vale +5
- Mayor Gubbin +5
- Coalition of Tradefolk Underground -1
Cleric Supplies
The second part is where it gets difficult. Kill black wolves to get a Black Wolf Skin and 2 Ruined Wolf Pelts. Then either forage up some Berries or pick them up off the ground in Misty Thicket. Turn them in to Beek Guinders in Rivervale for the following faction:
- Priests of Mischief +5
- Mayor Gubbin +5
- Guardians of the Vale +5
You'll need 400 skins and berries and 800 pelts. You'll need to kill about 2000 wolves to get all the skins. You may still be short on pelts, but all wolves drop them and they can be stored in your tradeskill depot.. The eastern edge of East Commonlands has the most wolves in my experience and the guard will kill most non-wolf mobs.
For berries, there's 3 respawning ones in Misty Thicket. Gathering them and foraging on cooldown with max forage will take about 12 hours to gather enough. Save any fruit you forage for Ogres.
Alternative Methods
You can do Jillin's Stew by saying "stew" to Blinza Toepopal in the Rivervale rogue guild and giving the Carrot Stew she gives you to Deputy Lowmot in the warrior guild for the following faction hits:
- Guardians of the Vale +5
- Mayor Grubbin +5
- Storm Reapers +5
- Merchants of Rivervale +5
- Dreadguard Outer -1
This will be slower, but gives Storm Reapers faction in addition to the rest.
You have no other option for Priests of Mischief.
High Elf
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Keepers of the Art
- Get maximum faction with Merchants of Felwithe
- Get maximum faction with Clerics of Tunare
Recommended Method
- Do Muffin for Pandos 400 times
- Do Red Wine to Lady Shae 400 times
- Do Bat Wings 400 times
Details
Muffins for Pandos
Buy 200 muffins from Pincia Brownloe in West Freeport give them to Pandos Flintside in the same zone. If you're KoS, you can go in the room next to him, hide in the corner by the door, open the door, and then trade with him via third person camera. Each muffin gives:
- Faydark Champions +5
- King Tearis Thex +5
- Clerics of Tunare +5
- Soldiers of Tunare +5
- Crushbone Orcs -1
Red Wine to Lady Shae
Next, buy 800 Red Wine from Swin Blackeye or Drona Whystlethin in the same building as Pandos. Track down Lady Shae in the same building and give them to her. She's on a unique faction that's neutral to everyone. Every 4 wine gives:
- Emerald Warriors +5
- Indigo Brotherhood -1
- Merchants of Felwithe +5
- Merchants of Kelethin +5
Bat Wings
Buy 1600 Bat Wings from any reagent vendor. Give them to Niola Impholder in South Felwithe. You'll need to be at least indifferent with her. Every 4 wings give:
- Keepers of the Art +5
- King Tearis Thex +5
- Faydark Champions +5
- The Dead -1
Alternative Methods
Necromancer Hunting
Most members of The Dead will give Keepers of the Art faction on kill. If you go that route for Eldritch Collective, you can max both at once. Keepers is pretty easy, so not recommended.
Small Lanterns
You can get the same faction hits as Pandos by giving Small Lanterns to Jyle Windshot. It doesn't really save time, but you'll get it if grinding Erudin factions.
Shark Meat
Merchants can also be gained by doing the Shark Meat Quest. Every 4 Shark Meat gives these faction hits:
- Emerald Warriors +40
- Indigo Brotherhood -6
- Merchants of Felwithe +5
- Kelethin Merchants +5
It takes about 6800 shark kills to gather enough meat, so it's not recommended.
Human (Freeport)
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Coalition of Tradefolk
- Get maximum faction with Freeport Militia
- Get maximum faction with Knights of Truth
Recommended Method
- Do Tonics for Groflah 110 times
- Do Message Intercept giving A Note to Sir Lucan D`Lere 42 times
Details
Tumpy Tonics
Buy 110 Kiola Nut from Cleonae Kalen in Ocean of Tears. Buy 220 Flask of Water from any merchant. Either turn them in 1 nut and 2 waters at a time to Tumpy Irontoe in South Kaladim or brew them yourself to get 110 Tumpy Tonic. Groflah Steadirt spawns at the dock bar in East Freeport at night and shares a spawn with several other NPCs, so you may need to wait or jump between difficulties to find him. Each tonic you give him gives these faction hits:
- Coalition of Tradefolk +10
- Coalition of Tradefolk Underground +10
- Knights of Truth +10
- Merchants of Qeynos +7
You only need 100, but you'll need a bit of a buff for your Knights of Truth faction for the next step.
Message Intercept
Mojax Hikspin is sitting by the lake in West Commonlands. If you give him a Bottle of Milk while at least amiable and he's not moving, Duggin Scumber will spawn, taunt Mojax, then run off and despawn. Mojax will then begin pathing around the whole zone before spawning A Note on the ground and walking back to the start.
Buy at least 42 bottles of milk. I'd recommend 50+ because this can be slightly tricky. Charm Mojax. This sets him to amiable, stops faction gains, and prevents him from moving. Hand him a bottle of milk to spawn Duggin. You'll probably not be able to kill him, but note where he spawn. Stand right by it, then spawn and kill him at least 42 times. Each kill will give you a note and these hits:
- Knights of Truth +1
- Priests of Marr +1
- The Freeport Militia -2
- Coalition of Tradefolk Underground -1
Take all of these notes to Sir Lucan D`Lere in West Freeport and give them to him for these hits each:
- The Freeport Militia +25
- Coalition of Tradefolk Underground +3
- Knights of Truth -2
- Priests of Marr -2
Alternative Methods
Coalition of Tradefolk
Note for Janam
You can do Note for Janam to quickly get Coalition of Tradefolk faction. Give a Dwarven Ale to Beur Tenlah in East Freeport to enable the quest. Say "message" to Harkin Duskfoot to get a Note to Janam. Fill your inventory up with them. Run over to Janam Rekish in West Freeport. Give him the notes to get back a Note to Harkin for each. Bring those notes back to Harkin and give them to him for a chance at Used Merchants Gloves and these faction hits:
- Coalition of Tradefolk Underground +20
- Coalition of Tradefolk +20
- Carson McCabe +5
- Corrupt Qeynos Guards +5
- The Freeport Militia +5
Slansin
Note: You can't do this quest if you're max faction with Craftkeepers. Do a Heretics quest to lower it and reenable the quest
You can use the Inert Potion Quest to raise this faction. You need amiable with Craftkeepers to start this. You can get there easily by doing the Vasty Deep Water quest. Say "assist" to Toresian Fhabel in Erudin Palace to receive an Inert Potion. Fill your inventory with them and then go to Slansin on the floor below. He'll be either a merchant or an enchanter. If he's a merchant, give him a single potion. He'll despawn and you'll get these hits:
- Craftkeepers -1
- High Council of Erudin -1
- Heretics +5
- High Guard of Erudin -1
If he's an enchanter, he won't despawn and you can trade him all of your potions for these hits:
- Coalition of Tradefolk Underground +5
- Coalition of Tradefolk +5
- Carson McCabe +5
- Corrupt Qeynos Guards +5
- The Freeport Militia +5
Brandy
Rohand's Brandy can be a quick way to raise Coalition of Tradefolk among other. Give Captain Rohand a Brandy to get this faction:
- Merchants of Qeynos +25
- Circle of Unseen Hands -5
- Antonius Bayle +5
- Coalition of Tradefolk +5
- Guards of Qeynos +5
400 brandy is needed to get to 2000 faction.
Knights of Truth
Milk for Mojax
If you're amiable to Knights of Truth, you can give milk to Mojax for this faction:
- Knights of Truth +5
- Dismal Rage -1
- The Freeport Militia -1
- Steel Warriors +5
- Priests of Marr +5
You need to get amiable first to do this and it's a bit fiddly with Militia faction, but it's pretty fast and also a great way to get Steel Warriors and Priests of Marr faction.
Bard Reports
You can do Bard Reports as long as you're high dubious with League of Antonican Bards. Tell Jusean Evanesque in South Qeynos "anehan and behroe" to get a Jusean's Report Request. Fill your inventory with them and run over to either Anehan Treol or Behroe Dlexon depending on who's up. Give them the reports to get their corresponding report back and the following faction for each:
- League of Antonican Bards +10
- Knights of Truth +5
- Guards of Qeynos +5
- Ring of Scale -1
- Mayong Mistmoore -1
Bring their reports back to Jusean and turn them in for these hits:
- League of Antonican Bards +25
- Knights of Truth +5
- Guards of Qeynos +5
- Ring of Scale -1
- Mayong Mistmoore -1
400 completions will get you enough Knights of Truth faction. You can also just use it to get to amiable to hand in milk.
Human (Qeynos)
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Merchants of Qeynos
- Get maximum faction with Guards of Qeynos
- Get maximum faction with Corrupt Qeynos Guards
Recommended Method
- Do Rohand's Brandy 400 times
- Do Honey Mead for Trumpy 400 times
Details
Brandy
Buy 400 Brandy from any bartender. Give them to Captain Rohand to get this faction for each:
- Merchants of Qeynos +25
- Circle of Unseen Hands -5
- Antonius Bayle +5
- Coalition of Tradefolk +5
- Guards of Qeynos +5
Honey Mead
The Honey Mead for Trumpy trades guards and merchants for corrupt guards, but the minimum faction change made it more efficient. Buy 1600 Honey Mead. Every 4 you give to Trumpy Irontoe in South Qeynos yields:
- Circle of Unseen Hands +5
- Merchants of Qeynos -1
- Corrupt Qeynos Guards +5
- Guards of Qeynos -1
- Kane Bayle +5
Feel free to mix these with other methods to max all the factions.
Alternative Methods
Qeynos very obviously had the most work done by the original devs, so there's countless ways to get each of these factions. Here's a few of the best.
Qeynos Guards
The Crate
This requires +50 faction over Indifferent with Guards of Qeynos to do. Say "arrows" to Guard Weleth at the North Qeynos gate 40 times to get 40 Crates of Defective Arrows. Take these crates to Nesiff Tallaherd in South Qeynos every crate you give him gives you A Slip of Parchment and this faction:
- Merchants of Qeynos +5
- Circle of Unseen Hands -1
- Antonius Bayle +5
- Coalition of Tradefolk +5
- Guards of Qeynos +5
Take the parchment back to Weleth. Each one gives you:
- Guards of Qeynos +25
- Antonius Bayle +5
- Circle of Unseen Hands -3
- Corrupt Qeynos Guards -6
- Merchants of Qeynos +5
You can alternate this with the evil version to easily max every faction affected.

400 completions will get you enough Guards of Qeynos faction.
Corrupt Qeynos Guards
Guard Shilster's Stout
The Guard Shilster's Stout is a slow but reliable way to max out the Qeynos evil factions. It requires you to trade 5 gold to Guard Shilster in North Karana. You can only do one trade at a time and it yields a Black Burrow Stout and these faction hits:
- Guards of Qeynos -1
- Kane Bayle +5
- Circle of Unseen Hands +5
- Corrupt Qeynos Guards +5
- Bloodsabers +5
I wouldn't recommend this over other options. Due to the trade bottleneck.
The Crate (Evil)
This requires +50 faction over Indifferent with Guards of Qeynos to do. Say "arrows" to Guard Weleth at the North Qeynos gate 40 times to get 40 Crates of Defective Arrows. Take these crates to Nesiff Tallaherd in South Qeynos every crate you give him gives you A Slip of Parchment and this faction:
- Merchants of Qeynos +5
- Circle of Unseen Hands -1
- Antonius Bayle +5
- Coalition of Tradefolk +5
- Guards of Qeynos +5
Instead of bringing the parchment to Weleth, instead bring it to Lieutenant Dagarok in South Qeynos. Each parchment nets you:
- Corrupt Qeynos Guards +25
- Guards of Qeynos -3
- Kane Bayle +5
- Circle of Unseen Hands +5
- Bloodsabers +5
You can mix this with the good version to easily max all affected factions.
Slansin
Note: You can't do this quest if you're max faction with Craftkeepers. Do a Heretics quest to lower it and reenable the quest
You can use the Inert Potion Quest to raise corrupt guards. You need amiable with Craftkeepers to start this. You can get there easily by doing the Vasty Deep Water quest. Iksar
Note: Cannot be unlocked via achievement because quests to raise the required faction have not yet been implemented.
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with New Sebilisian Expedition
Recommended Method
Alternative Methods
Ogre
Note: While technically obtainable, this will take an extreme amount of time.
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Oggok Guards
- Get maximum faction with Clurg
- Get maximum faction with Merchants of Oggok
Recommended Method
- Do the Oggok Fresh Baked Muffin Quest 400 times
Details
Muffins
There is only one realistic way to raise Merchants of Oggok. Bake 400 Muffin. They have to be baked. You'll need 667 Fruit with no failures and they can only be foraged or gathered off the ground in Misty Thicket. Expect this to take 15-20 hours. I'd highly recommend getting to at least 135 baking and take the first baking AA so you don't fail. Make sure you don't eat any.
Once you've obtained enough muffins, go to Gretta Mottle in South Kaladim and say "bake muffins" to get a Muffin Crate. Fill it with 10 muffins and combine it. Repeat until you have a full inventory, the go and give them to an innkeeper in The Feerrott or Oggok. Each one gives:
- Merchants of Oggok +5
- Oggok Guards +5
- Clurg +5
Alternative Methods
Bags of Bread Loaves
Your only real alternative to the muffins are Bags of Bread Loaves. Each one gives:
- Merchants of Oggok +5
- Clurg +5
- Oggok Guards +5
They drop off the sporali in RunnyEye Citadel at a low rate. To get the 400 you need, will require about 20000 kills. Not really feasible, but if they drop, they're a nice bonus.
Stein of Moggok
This can be used to max out Clurg and Oggok Guards.
- Go to Te`Anara in Surefall Glade and say "special potion" 20+ times to get Flasks of Nitrates. Requires amiable. Killing Gnolls in Blackburrow is the easiest way to get there.
- Give the flasks to Kimble Nogflop in Ak'Anon to receive Regurgitonic. There's a chance you get a fake one.
- Give the Regurgitonic to Frostbite in Western Plains of Karana. Good ones will yield Koalindl Fish. You need 10.
- Buy 10 Kiola Nuts from Cleonae Kalen in Ocean of Tears
- Kill bixies until you get 30 Honeycomb. It will take about 150.
- Give 3 Honeycomb and 30 gold to Kizzie Mintopp for Honey Jum 10 times
- Buy 10 Innoruuk's Kiss of Death from Geoard BlueHawk in Erudin
- Give those 10 Kisses of Death to Sinnkin Highbrow in the Erudin library to get 10 Erud's Tonic
- Go to Gregor Nasin in East Freeport and give him a fish, honey jum, Erud's tonic, and kiola nut for a Barkeep Compendium. Repeat until you have 10.
- Go to Clurg in Oggok and give him the 10 compendiums. This requires +50 into indifferent, which you should have by now. If not, illusion into an ogre or dark elf. Each one will get you a Stein of Moggok and:
- Clurg +50
- Kazon Stormhammer -50
- Green Blood Knights +50
- Craknek Warriors +50
- Oggok Guards +50
Troll
Note: Cannot be unlocked via achievement because no quests exist to raise one of the factions.
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Da Bashers
- Get maximum faction with Grobb Merchants
- Get maximum faction with Dark Ones
Recommended Method
- Do More Help for Innoruuk 400 times
- Do Nerbilik's Grub Locker 200 times
- ???

Deathfist Belts
Farm 400 Deathfist Slashed Belts from Deathfist orcs. I recommend farming the camps in West Commonlands or East Commonlands. Expect about 2000 kills to get how many you need. Turn them in to Bregna in Grobb for a Spirit Pouch scroll and:
- Dark Ones +5
- Shadownights of Night Keep +5
- Frogloks of Guk -1
Grub Locker
Go to Neriak Foreign Quarter and tell The Gobbler "deliver grub locker" to get a Grub Locker. Repeat until your inventory is full. Bring it to Nerbilik in Ocean of Tears and give it to him. This gives you:
- Da Bashesrs +10
- Broken Skull Clan -1
Do this 200 times.
Alternative Methods
Majik Power
You can do Majik Power as an alternative to farming belts. You need to farm 800 Bone Chips and 800 Froglok Tadpole Flesh. Give 2 of each to Kaglari in Grobb to get a Burst of Flame scroll and:
- Dark Ones +5
- Shadownights of Night Keep +5
- Frogloks of Guk -1

Wood Elf
Requirements
- Get maximum faction with Emerald Warriors
- Get maximum faction with Soldiers of Tunare
- Get maximum faction with Kelethin Merchants
Recommended Method
- Do Muffin for Pandos 400 times
- Do Red Wine to Lady Shae 400 times
Muffins for Pandos
Buy 400 muffins from Pincia Brownloe in West Freeport give them to Pandos Flintside in the same zone. If you're KoS, you can go in the room next to him, hide in the corner by the door, open the door, and then trade with him via third person camera. Each muffin gives:
- Faydark Champions +5
- King Tearis Thex +5
- Clerics of Tunare +5
- Soldiers of Tunare +5
- Crushbone Orcs -1
Red Wine to Lady Shae
Next, buy 1600 Red Wine from Swin Blackeye or Drona Whystlethin in the same building as Pandos. Track down Lady Shae in the same building and give them to her. She's on a unique faction that's neutral to everyone. Every 4 wine gives:
- Emerald Warriors +5
- Indigo Brotherhood -1
- Merchants of Felwithe +5
- Merchants of Kelethin +5
Alternative Methods
I do not recommend doing anything else since it's so simple, but the same as High Elves work here.
Small Lanterns
You can get the same faction hits as Pandos by giving Small Lanterns to Jyle Windshot. It doesn't really save time, but you'll get it if grinding Erudin factions.
Shark Meat
Merchants can also be gained by doing the Shark Meat Quest. Every 4 Shark Meat gives these faction hits:
- Emerald Warriors +40
- Indigo Brotherhood -6
- Merchants of Felwithe +5
- Kelethin Merchants +5
It takes about 6800 shark kills to gather enough meat. Not recommended.
