Description
A reliable farm location is the Gypsy camp (#3 on wiki map) where at least two basilisks roam through. One will stop at -336, 872 (Northeastish of the camp) about 8:50 to 9:00 minutes after you kill it. The other will stop at -386, 1112 (Up the hill Northwestish of the camp) about 11:30 to 12 minutes after you kill it.
They share spawns with a lava crawler, so kill them as well if you are looking for basilisks (likely for eggs). I also think they have a spawn time about 60 seconds and there are 8 total spawns. Spawn locations I've found: -585 -825, 42 735, 1035 645, 210 810, 263 958, 560 90, 110 -570, =160 1050 They all seem to roam about 30 seconds after they spawn.
Unlike many other reptiles, lava basilisks are social creatures and will assist other basilisks nearby.
