Description
A rare creature who starts an event. Hail him, then say 'tome'. He calls up books from the stacks: first a passage of flame ("This can't be right!"), then a chapter of misery and a tale of woe ("Maybe this one . . ."). They keep coming in waves (4 of each were killed, solo) until he says "Encounter complete"; then he can be fought.
You say, 'Hail, The Head Librarian'
The Head Librarian says, 'A visitor? Did Lord Everling send you to collect a [tome]?'
You say, 'tome'
The Head Librarian says, 'Well, let's see if we can't find it. Our stacks know Lord Everling's will, and the right volume will reveal itself.'
On death: The Head Librarian says, 'Finally . . . silence in the library.'
