Walkthrough

Eolorn J`Axx is a Rogue Guildmaster in the Rogue guild in Neriak Third Gate (630,-1308).

You say, 'Hail, Eolorn J`Axx'

Eolorn J`Axx says 'It is good to see new blood in our halls. I am the leader of this house. If you are looking for guidance, seek out the masters within. I rarely appoint tasks to new recruits, unless I need to retrieve the [foreign take].'

You say, 'What foreign take?'

Eolorn J`Axx says 'We have rogues operating in a few great cities. We send young rogues to retrieve the monthly take. We have been awaiting the Freeport delivery. The last youth I sent must have been killed along the way. I will need a new runner to [retrieve the chest].'

You say, 'I will retrieve the chest.'

Eolorn J`Axx says 'You seem able enough. Here. Take this note to Freeport. Go through the Commonlands and be careful not to encounter any Freeport guards. There is a network of aqueducts accessible through hidden passages. Search the outside walls of Freeport. Take the note to Giz. She will meet you at night, on an island in the harbor. Good luck.'

You receive a Sealed Letter (identifies as "Letter To Giz") which reads:

Giz Dinree. Freeport. My love, I have sent this young recruit to deliver the shipment to me. I believe he can be trusted. Please allow him to take the chest. E.J. xintldl ii

Find Giz Dinree in East Freeport's harbor, at -367, -1095. She is only present at night between 9 PM and AM- during the day, an NPC named Bait Masterson occupies her space; he is KOS to evil races.

Give Giz the letter (also requires Amiable faction).

Giz Dinree says, 'I am glad to see you. We have a problem. The last runner and I attempted to carry the chest from a boat. It fell overboard! He went in after it, but the sharks made a meal of him. If you want to try and get it, it is down below in the water in the harbor. Be careful.'

You gain experience!! but no items.

If you swim off shore a little you will find a groundspawn named Locked Chest (Loc: -406, -1150). The chest has a ~14 minute spawn time, but you may be able to spawn it again by switching difficulties and creating instances (giving Giz the letter does not respawn the chest).

Pick the chest up and bring it back to Eolorn (also requires Amiable faction):
