Seems to have a drop rate of about 1 in 10 from undead (white haired vampire females that are hunched over) in Mistmoore Castle. Given that the undead are only up for a bit less than half the day, this makes Essence of Moonlight annoyingly difficult to come by in any quantity. Go to Mistmoore Castle locations # 6,7, & 9 (Loc -67, 171 
) on the map and there are usually white haired vampire females regardless of it being day or night.
Kill all the mobs in this area and when night time comes, include going to locations #10,11, & work back to 5 (doors that all open by the graveyard false wall).
