Walkthrough

Castle Route and Door Keys

This quest takes place during The Tragic Tale of House Everling. See that quest's library-key guide for the four harpsichord ground items and combine station.

1. Find Lady Sileniu Everling in the northeast of the second floor, at (552, -132, 17). Hail her, ask about "He", then "swear".
2. Return downstairs to Plimptos at (102, -151, 7). Hail him, say "crimes", then "brought back" to receive the sword hilt.
3. Speak to Alexa's Handmaiden in the southeast area of the second floor, at (172, -178, 17).
4. Kill all the sisters around the edges of the second-floor map. Their linked pages and recorded locations are listed below.
5. Return to Alexa's Handmaiden to receive the Nektropos Great Room Key.
6. Kill Alexa Everling in the southwest great room, just off the main hall on the second floor, to obtain the Nektropos Private Chamber Key. (26, 150, 15)
7. Go to the northwest area of the second floor. In the Guard Captain's room on the west side, use the secret entrance behind the bookshelf to descend into the basement. (600, 201, 15)
8. Follow the basement corridor southwest and kill the Juggernaut at (-331, 310, -112) to obtain the Nektropos Basement Key.
9. Enter the room beside the Juggernaut and defeat Lord Rikantus Everling at (-382, 181, -112), using the combat guidance below.
10. Return to Plimptos and say "end". He disappears. Then return to the House Everling quest: tell Lady Everling "dead" and "Confess", kill her, then return to Lord Ollix and say "tragic".

Lord Rikantus Everling: Combat

• Golem cycles: The lord spawns a golem every 20% HP, starting at 90% (90%, 70%, 50%, 30% and 10%). While the golem is present, the lord takes greatly reduced damage. Kill the golem, ignore the summoned zombies and resume attacking the lord.
• Final 5%: Be ready to burst down the lord amid the zombie horde and any golem still present. Below 5%, focus on finishing the lord.

Dialogue and Quest Events

You say, 'Hail, Lady Sileniu Everling'

Lady Sileniu Everling says, '[He] must pay! He must pay for what he did to my children! He must pay for what he did to my family! I thought leaving this world would bring me peace but there is only pain.'

You say, 'He'

Lady Sileniu Everling says, 'Plimptos! And his other damnable eunuchs. May they suffer for all time in the plane of torment. But Plimptos still walks this earth... while my daughters lie slain. Please [swear] to me that you will right this injustice and allow me to rest in peace.'

You say, 'swear'

Lady Sileniu Everling says, 'Oh thank you Soandso. You are a walking blessing for our family. Now go! He should be locked away still. Go and find him and not allow him to draw another breath in this world.'

You say, 'Hail, Plimptos'

Plimptos says, 'Another has come to administer my torture session. Stangely though, I do not know you. Are you from outside the castle? Then please listen to my tale and help me atone for my regrettable [crimes].'

You say, 'crimes'

Plimptos says, 'I have done many things in my life but none so reprehensible as this. It was anger and maybe madness that drove me, but I killed them all. All the sisters I swore to care for. I killed them and cut them into tiny pieces as small as the sword would cut them. It was almost like a dream. The blood flowing as I slashed and hacked my way room from room making sure there was no way Rikantus would ever be able to lay his eyes on his cherished children ever again. I paid for it. I have died more times than I have ever killed. Each time being [brought back] from the safety of death only to relive torture and pain again.'

You say, 'brought back'

Plimptos says, 'Yes, a curse of some kind as punishment for my deeds has me resurrected every time. Maybe one-hundred times or a thousand at this point I do not know anymore. There is one way that may end this cycle of suffering. Please, take this sword hilt and find the spirits of the seven sisters. Recreate my evil deeds in a final act and put them to rest so that I may then finally be able to rest myself.'

As you grasp the sword hilt, a voice echoes within your mind. 'Yes, he is right. Put the sisters to rest. Help end the cursed existence of this pitiful man.' Ghastly as the command may be, you feel compelled to obey.

You say, 'Hail, Alexa`s Handmaiden'

Alexa`s Handmaiden says, 'I apologize, but Alexa is not here right now. Perhaps you should see if she is visiting one of her sisters in their towers?'

Kill Jenni Everling, Melanie Everling, Crysta Everling, Shelia Everling, Elise Everling and Deirdre Everling. Each kill:

• Your faction standing with Host of Nektropos has been adjusted by -2.

You say, 'Hail, Alexa`s Handmaiden'

Alexa`s Handmaiden says, 'Alexa was not with her sisters? You should try in the great room, then. Take this key and see if you can find her there.'

You receive Nektropos Great Room Key.

Kill Alexa Everling in the great room:

The voice enters your mind once more as you hold the bloodied sword hilt. 'You are almost done with this atrocious task. One last life must be paid. Go find the Lord of this house and soak the blade in his blood.' Drawing upon the blood it is now slaked with, the hilt reshapes itself into a small blade. While it still appears incomplete, its lethality has increased.

You receive Fractured Malice.

Kill Lord Rikantus Everling:

Everling falls, and the dead of Nektropos are still.

• Your faction standing with Host of Nektropos has been adjusted by -2.

You gain experience!!

Return to Plimptos:

You say, 'end'

You thrust the blade deep into the body of Rikantus Everling, soaking its length with his blood. The voice inside your head has become a shriek of bliss. In your hand, the blade is fully reforged. The blade is satisfied. But you have one task left to complete.

You receive Blood's Unity.

Notes

• This quest is given during The Tragic Tale of House Everling; finish that quest by telling Lady Sileniu Everling he is 'dead', then 'confess'.
• Each Everling killed costs -2 Host of Nektropos faction.
• Blood's Unity is a quest reward: even in a +4 instance, it is a +0.
• Extra copies: after the task is done, saying 'brought back' to Plimptos still hands out a sword hilt, and several can be carried at once. Each kill of Alexa Everling turns the topmost hilt in your inventory into the small blade, and each kill of Lord Rikantus Everling turns a small blade into Blood's Unity: one upgrade per kill. Copies merge into higher + versions.
