Nektropos Castle: Difference between revisions

Latest revision as of 20:40, 27 October 2026

Once home to one of Norrath's great noble families, Nektropos Castle is now shrouded in tragedy and dark secrets. After years of mistreatment, a servant stole Lord Rikantus Everling's prized enchanted sword and murdered his seven daughters, driving the grieving lord into madness and an obsession with raising the dead. His surviving son, Lord Ollix Everling, desperately seeks to conceal the family's horrifying fate, inviting discreet adventurers into the castle to help preserve its secrets.

Beyond the overgrown lands of Lake Nerius, the castle's locked doors conceal haunted halls, dangerous inhabitants, and the remnants of the Everling family's former glory. Beneath its foundations lies the Nektropos Undercrofts, home to the Ayr'Haeth, a hidden community of Half Dark Elves whose existence remains unknown to the household above.

Originally featured in EverQuest II as a cursed ruin haunted by the ghosts of the Everling daughters, Nektropos Castle appears in EverQuest Legends approximately 500 years earlier, when the family's tragic history was only beginning to unfold.

Map

The castle consists of multiple floors, locked rooms, and a basement. Progression through its interior requires completing quests and obtaining keys to access restricted areas.

See The Tragic Tale of House Everling and The Betrayer for information on navigating the castle and unlocking its doors.

Dangers

Nektropos Castle is a high-level dungeon inhabited by powerful undead, golems, and other dangerous creatures associated with the Everling household. Its numerous named enemies and locked passages make exploring the castle particularly hazardous.

Adventurers must also contend with encounters tied to the castle's main questline, which involves defeating bosses and progressing through restricted areas of the estate.

Benefits

Nektropos Castle offers a wide variety of equipment dropped by its many named inhabitants, along with a quest reward obtained through its main storyline. The castle's quests also unlock access to restricted areas, allowing adventurers to explore deeper into the estate and confront its most dangerous inhabitants.

Throughout their exploration, adventurers can encounter members of the Everling family and uncover the events surrounding their tragic fate.

Traveling To and From

Nektropos Castle is located beyond Lake Nerius, which can be reached from Nektulos Forest.

The castle gates are initially locked. To gain entry, adventurers must complete Hate, Betrayal, and Trust, beginning with Retainer Ozval in Lake Nerius. This questline requires obtaining several items and traveling to the Plane of Hate.

Once the entry requirements have been completed, adventurers can enter the castle through its main gates.

+Once home to one of Norrath's great noble families, Nektropos Castle is now shrouded in tragedy and dark secrets.
-Nektropos Castle is a zone in EverQuest Legends.
+Beyond the overgrown lands of Lake Nerius, the castle's locked doors conceal haunted halls, dangerous inhabitants, and the remnants of the Everling family's former glory. Beneath its foundations lies the Nektropos Undercrofts, home to the Ayr'Haeth, a hidden community of Half Dark Elves whose existence remains unknown to the household above.
-Add a brief description of the zone here. This can include lore, its general purpose, the level range, location in the world, or other useful introductory information.
+Originally featured in EverQuest II as a cursed ruin haunted by the ghosts of the Everling daughters, Nektropos Castle appears in EverQuest Legends approximately 500 years earlier, when the family's tragic history was only beginning to unfold.
