The remaining materials can be gathered efficiently by combining the EQL translocator network with Origin.

Plan for ‘’‘eight Dwarven Wires’’’, enough material for four complete Trueshot attempts.
The planned route is:

Travel through Butcherblock Mountains → Ocean of Tears to obtain the ingredients for Tumpy Tonics.
:Kelethin → Butcherblock Mountains → Ocean of Tears → East Freeport → West Freeport → Origin to Kelethin → Kaladim → Kelethin

Buy enough ‘’‘Kiola Nuts’’’ during the Ocean of Tears trip to make ‘’‘16 Tumpy Tonics’’’.
At this level the translocators should still be free, making this much faster than waiting for boats.

Return to Kaladim and make the tonics through ‘’‘Tumpy Irontoe’’’, then find ‘’‘Trantor Everhot’’’ in North Kaladim.
Ocean of Tears — Kiola Nuts
Turn in:
From Kelethin, travel through Greater Faydark to Butcherblock Mountains.

Go to the Butcherblock docks and use the translocator to travel to the Ocean of Tears.

Eight Dwarven Wires require 16 Tumpy Tonics.

Each Tumpy Tonic requires:

* 1 Kiola Nut
* 2 Flasks of Water

For 16 Tumpy Tonics, you therefore need:

* 16 Kiola Nut<nowiki/>s
* 32 Flasks of Water

Buy at least 16 Kiola Nuts from Cleonae Kalen while in the Ocean of Tears.

Once you have the Kiola Nuts, use the Ocean of Tears translocator to travel directly to East Freeport.

Freeport — Lanterns and Wooden Shards
In East Freeport, buy Small Lanterns from Innkeep Hunter at the Freeport Inn. He is the closest known lantern merchant to Jyle Windshot.

Then travel to West Freeport and find Jyle Windshot at Hogcaller's Inn.

He is on the second floor, first room on the left, approximately:

:(-160, -532)

Give Jyle Small Lanterns one at a time until you have four Wooden Shards, enough for four Trueshot attempts.

Jyle has roughly a 90% chance per lantern to give Wooden Shards and roughly a 10% chance to give A Wooden Heart, identified as a Treant Heart.

Save any Wooden Hearts you obtain. One is later required for the Rain Caller Quest, so getting one now can save another trip later.

Once you have four Wooden Shards, use Origin to return directly to Kelethin.

Kaladim — Tumpy Tonics and Dwarven Wire
From Kelethin, travel through Greater Faydark and Butcherblock Mountains to Kaladim.

You need a total of:

* 16 Kiola Nuts
* 32 Flasks of Water

:’’‘2 Tumpy Tonics → 1 Dwarven Wire’’’
Use these ingredients to obtain 16 Tumpy Tonics through Tumpy Irontoe.

Repeat until you have ‘’‘eight Dwarven Wires’’’.
Each Tumpy Tonic requires:

Treant Wood — Jyle Windshot
:1 Kiola Nut + 2 Flasks of Water → 1 Tumpy Tonic

Travel to West Freeport and find ‘’‘Jyle Windshot’’’ at Hogcaller’s Inn.
Once you have 16 Tumpy Tonics, find Trantor Everhot in North Kaladim.

He is on the ‘’‘second floor, first room on the left’’’, approximately:
Turn in:

:’’’(-160, -532)’’’
:2 Tumpy Tonics → 1 Dwarven Wire

Bring ‘’‘Small Lanterns’’’ and keep turning them in until you have ‘’‘four sets of Treant Wood/Wooden Shards’’’ for four Trueshot attempts.
Repeat until you have eight Dwarven Wires.

Jyle also has roughly a ‘’‘10% chance per lantern’’’ to give ‘’‘A Wooden Heart’’’, identified as a Treant Heart.
You need two Dwarven Wires for each complete Trueshot attempt: one for the Pack of Materials and another for the final bow combine.

‘’‘Save any Wooden Hearts you obtain.’’’ One is later required for the ‘’‘Rain Caller’’’ quest.
When finished, return to Kelethin.

This guide provides a path to obtaining a Trueshot Longbow at an extremely low character level, starting from a fresh character in Kelethin.

The route combines early leveling, platinum farming, Fletching progression, and gathering enough quest materials to make several Trueshot Longbow attempts.

Plan at a Glance

 1. Levels 1–6: Level quickly in Crushbone as DRU/MNK.
 2. Levels 6–10: Move to Steamfont Mountains. Farm Micro Servos, Fine Steel weapons, platinum, and Fletching skill.
 3. Level 10: Switch into your intended RNG/X/X build.
 4. Gather the remaining Trueshot materials. Travel to Freeport, use the translocator network to visit the Ocean of Tears for Kiola Nuts, then return to Freeport for Wooden Shards.
 5. Use Origin to return to Kelethin, then travel to Kaladim for Tumpy Tonics and Dwarven Wire.
 6. Return to Kelethin, finish raising Fletching, and attempt the Trueshot Longbow.
 7. Return to Crushbone with the bow and farm approximately 250 pp for the next stage of the archery progression.

Levels 1–6 — Crushbone

Start as DRU/MNK in Kelethin and go directly to Crushbone.

This gives you sustain, buffs, and strong melee while you are still naked and afraid. You can change your loadout at any time, and will pick up RNG later.

Level to approximately 6. The objective is fast XP rather than serious gear farming.

You will return to Crushbone later with much better equipment.

Levels 6–10 — Steamfont Mountains

Move to Steamfont Mountains and stay here until roughly level 10.

Micro Servos

Farm rogue clockworks for Micro Servos.

Try to gather eight Micro Servos so you do not have to return if the Trueshot combines fail.

You need two Micro Servos for each complete attempt: one for the Pack of Materials and another for the final Trueshot Longbow combine. Eight Servos therefore provide enough material for four complete attempts.

Highway Bandits

Also watch for the highway bandits:

 • Hector the highway bandit
 • Jerald the highway bandit
 • Renaldo the highway bandit

They attack the Cargo Clockwork near the windmills/crossroads and can provide valuable Fine Steel weapons.

Cycle D0–D4 plus both instances to take advantage of their once-per-day spawn opportunities.

Platinum and Fletching

Your cash target before leaving Steamfont is approximately 80 pp, enough to fund Fletching through roughly 150 skill.

Use A Clockwork Fletcher near the Steamfont windmills to work on Fletching while regenerating health or mana, or while waiting for bandit spawns.

Enable Fast Merge in Options before beginning the crafting grind.

Also kill spiderlings in Steamfont and save at least four Spiderling Silk for the Trueshot quest.

Level 10 — Become RNG/X/X

At approximately level 10, switch into your intended RNG/X/X build.

You are now ready to gather the remaining Trueshot materials.

Gather the Trueshot Materials

The remaining materials can be gathered efficiently by combining the EQL translocator network with Origin.

The planned route is:

Kelethin → Butcherblock Mountains → Ocean of Tears → East Freeport → West Freeport → Origin to Kelethin → Kaladim → Kelethin

At this level the translocators should still be free, making this much faster than waiting for boats.

Ocean of Tears — Kiola Nuts

From Kelethin, travel through Greater Faydark to Butcherblock Mountains.

Go to the Butcherblock docks and use the translocator to travel to the Ocean of Tears.

Eight Dwarven Wires require 16 Tumpy Tonics.

Each Tumpy Tonic requires:

For 16 Tumpy Tonics, you therefore need:

(-160, -532)

 • 16 Kiola Nuts
 • 32 Flasks of Water

Use these ingredients to obtain 16 Tumpy Tonics through Tumpy Irontoe.

Each Tumpy Tonic requires:

1 Kiola Nut + 2 Flasks of Water → 1 Tumpy Tonic

Once you have 16 Tumpy Tonics, find Trantor Everhot in North Kaladim.

Turn in:

2 Tumpy Tonics → 1 Dwarven Wire

Repeat until you have eight Dwarven Wires.

You need two Dwarven Wires for each complete Trueshot attempt: one for the Pack of Materials and another for the final bow combine.

When finished, return to Kelethin.

Back to Kelethin — Make the Bow

Return to Kelethin and finish raising Fletching to approximately 150+.

Buy Fletching Mastery I and Fletching Mastery II if you have not already done so.

Make sure you also have a Planing Tool.

The Planing Tool is returned on both successful and failed Trueshot combines, so only one is required.

Pack of Materials

Find Maesyn Trueshot in Kelethin.

For each attempt, first combine:

Spiderling Silk + Dwarven Wire + Micro Servo + Wooden Shards
→ Pack of Materials

Turn the Pack of Materials in to Maesyn Trueshot to receive:

Treant Bow Staff

Trueshot Longbow

Now attempt the final Fletching combine:

Treant Bow Staff + Dwarven Wire + Micro Servo + Planing Tool
→ Trueshot Longbow

The Trueshot Longbow is:

20 damage / 45 delay

The final combine has a Fletching trivial of 235.

At this early skill level, your raw success chance should be around 5%. With Fletching Mastery II, the practical success chance should improve to approximately 29%.

For four complete attempts, the important quest-material stockpile is:

 • 8 Micro Servos
 • 8 Dwarven Wires
 • 4 Wooden Shards
 • 4 Spiderling Silks
 • 1 Planing Tool

With luck, you will not need all four attempts.

Once It Succeeds — Time to Profit

Once the Trueshot Longbow succeeds, go back to Crushbone.

This time you are not here merely to level.

Start clearing the upgraded named mobs for equipment and vendor cash. Your next target is approximately 250 pp to fund the Smithing and Fletching progression required for high-end arrows.

Pay particular attention to:

 • Bonefire — An approximately level 18 Paladin found in the throne-room area of Castle Crushbone. He commonly drops Headsplitter, an 11/43 two-handed axe that has been observed vendoring for approximately 12 pp on EQL.
 • Emperor Crush — Found in the rear alcove behind the throne room. Valuable drops include the Dwarven Ringmail Tunic and Crown of Crush.
 • The other upgraded named mobs throughout the zone.

Crushbone supports content roughly through level 22 and contains a substantial expanded loot table, making it an excellent place to turn your newly acquired combat power into equipment and platinum.

In practical terms:

Kill them all in the name of our Goddess Tunare.

Next Step — Mithril Champion Arrows

Once you have approximately 250 pp, return to Kelethin and begin the Smithing and Fletching progression toward your first +0 Blessed Mithril Champion Arrow.

When that succeeds, your basic archery package becomes:

 • Trueshot Longbow: 20 damage / 45 delay
 • +0 Blessed Mithril Champion Arrow: 11 physical + 4 fire damage
 • Combined attack: 31 physical + 4 fire / 45 delay

That is 35 total damage / 45 delay when physical and fire damage are considered together.

This is the point where the early investment pays off: an extremely strong archery package at a very low character level, with both the bow and arrow still having substantial upgrade paths ahead.
