Nivold Predd can be found inside the Tabernacle of Terror in Paineel at (1116, 518).

You say, 'Hail, Nivold Predd'

: Nivold Predd says, 'What do you want? Do not disturb me lest you plan to assist in my [summoning of Dread].'

You say, 'summoning of Dread'

: Nivold Predd says, 'There are some components essential to the summoning of the avatar of Dread. I require the eye of a griffon, some [powder of reanimation], the brain of the Ishva Mal, and the toes of an ice giant. Fetch me these reagents so that we may summon the avatar to forge a shield worn only by the mightiest apostles of Cazic-Thule.'

You say, 'powder of reanimation'

: Nivold Predd says, 'There is a gnome necromancer who has been experimenting with a powder used in reanimating long dead organic tissue. He is known to frequent places populated by undead in order to pursue his research. Seek him out and procure a bit of his powder.'

Travel to Unrest and locate Khrix Fritchoff on the second floor (595, 61).

You say, 'Hail, Khrix Fritchoff'

: Khrix Fritchoff says 'Close the door and be gone, fool!! You are going to give away my hiding spot!!'

Give him a Greater Lightstone (He will accept at dubious) and Khrix`s Abomination will spawn in the room directly behind Khrix's closet (not in it). It is level 38.

: Khrix Fritchoff says 'At last I may leave this place!! Good luck destroying my abomination, you will surely need it against my most powerful yet uncontrollable creation!'

: Khrix`s Abomination says, 'Grrrarrrrrg!! Har har grrrarrrrg!!'

Khrix`s Abomination spawns in the next room to the north. Kill it and loot Powder of Reanimation. Return to Paineel and hand in the Powder of Reanimation, Griffon Eye, Ice Giant Toes, and the Brain of the Ishva Mal to Nivold Predd.

: Nivold Predd says, 'Commendable work, you have proven yourself a valuable member of our order. Our chanters have summoned the avatar of Dread. Hurry and take him this mundane shield so that he may forge it into a truly valuable symbol of your devotion to the lord of Fear!'

Give the Mundane Shield to the Avatar of Dread.

: avatar of dread says, 'Wear this shield imbued with my very essence. Wear it in honor of your great services to our Lord Cazic-Thule!'
