This spell, and spells like it which reduce movement speed, are informally referred to as "Snare" spells. They include [[Ensnare]], the necromancer/SK [[Engulfing Darkness]] line of spells, the wizard [[Bonds of Force]] and the druid [[Bonds of Tunare]] targeted AE snares, the bard [[Largo's Absonant Binding]] PBAE snare, and rogue poisons.

Snare spells are essential to common kiting strategies, allowing casters ample time to cast their nukes and reliably keeping them safe for the duration of the fight.
